Tervehdys, kaverit.
I'm Sarah, Viahh, Mum, Zuban Zubaninen, or any insult of your choice. I'm 16 (Cancerian, hells yeah) and self taught, I've always been into drawing even before I could hold a pencil properly.
Music is my main source of inspiration, my favourite bands are Children Of Bodom, The Rasmus, Turisas, HIM, Rammstein and Korpiklaani but APOCALYPTICA are my FAVOURITE. They are the world to me.
If you want to post my pics on another website, please contact me skulldrax@msn.com.
Thank you and have a nice day
[I don't really come here anymore so visit my dA instead www.xhidefromthesunx.deviantart.com]
Thank you, I still have more to put up. I'm sure I will continue to draw them as well, they are so inspiring :) Glad you're a fan, they are amazing. X)
Yeah they'll probably make one this year or the next, they're just finishing off recording the new album at the moment Can't wait! I'm planning to see all the dates they make in Britain, s'gonna be awesome
Hahaha thank you again, and I'm actually quite flattered you thought I was to be honest! I've been learning Finnish for a little while but I'm still not that great at it, argh X)
I understand how Finnish can be hard to learn for people who speak other languages; for example the way all the pre-and postpositions are replaced by suffixes is pretty confusing (one of the reasons I have problems with prepositions when speaking/writing English, actually).
Lol definitely! I think they are interesting but it's so hard to remember all of them all of the time, and I bet I only know a small amount of them
Well, to be honest there are so many different types of slang in England that grammar doesn't seem to exist anymore And I'm always impressed by how well Finnish people speak English. All of the bands I listen to and all the Finnish people I've ever met (including you) speak better English than I do So don't worry about it
I remember how we had to memorize the suffixes and such in grade school, it was horrible
We speak rather good English because the English teaching starts at an early grade (was it 4th grade? Probably) and it's good-quality teaching
My English skills are a combination of school English lessons plus movies, games and the internet
I can already watch movies in English without subtitles of any kind and understand them almost perfectly, for example B)
Loool Yeah, I bet it was! A lot of people get confused with English at first, but I don't think anyone here speaks English properly so it doesn't matter The people born here speak in slang, and the people that come here speak in their own language, ho hum.
Well then, that explains it! We get forced to learn French or German when we're 11 for 3 years but as soon as we're allowed to quit, most of us forget everything Unfortunately, I was put in the French group and so refused to learn anything. Of course, with our schooling system being so crap, they didn't notice. X)
So I have to learn Finnish from books, bands and the internet. Probably why I'm not getting very far. I know enough to confuse my friends so...that's fun.
No wonder you refused to learn anything in your French class; I kind of hate French
Germany sounds interesting though but I never got around to taking any classes.
You should find some place that gives Finnish lessons, it's such an interesting language (and pretty, too ;D)
Hahaha same, that's exactly why I learnt nothing. I would have LOVED to have learnt German for three years....but no, my teachers were idiots.
Lol, I have looked but the only person or people that teach Finnish were up in Manchester, I live down in Reading near London so I can't get there. Interesting and pretty is an understatement, I think it's amazing and beautiful I said "Suomi on kaunis kieli" to a Nightwish roadie and he said "It's fucked up, actually!" hahaha
Kind of nasty you can't choose yourself :U I could've taken up French or German or something on 8th grade; we're given a choice. I didn't take either of them though, had enough work with English and Swedish (which I strongly detest).
Poor thing. D: Hope you'll be able to take some lessons sometime
Haha It is kind of fucked up in a way, really. In a nice way
Yeah it was, but that's the English schooling system for you. And our parents wonder why we're all dumb
English AND Swedish? Ouch. I don't see the point in learning a language just because they're next to you o_O lol. I find it amazing that people in other countries speak both their own language and English, I feel like an idiot only knowing one
Haha, it is. Rather like the roadie guy himself! He looked like he was in a terrible mood, but he still gave me a hug Whenever I hear my favourite bands speak/sing in Finnish I just melt. X)
Swedish is an official language here so we're pretty much forced to learn it. And I hate it so. D:<
But it's easy to survive with English in many places though
Blaahhh, yeah I read that in a book about going to Finland (Just need the money now! ) I think that's rediculous. Ok, so the reason why people are forced to learn English is because England owned half the world (my ancestors weren't English so I don't have to be ashamed, wahey!) but like you said, we can use it to speak in whatever country. Although, being English myself, I only speak English. Which kinda sucks. Well, hopefully I will speak good Finnish some day.....I bet my grammar was terrible before, right? X)
Haha you should hear my Reading(City I live in) accent, it's ugly as hell! Missing out all the t's and g's in the middle and end of words, merging words and missing out words 'cause we're too lazy to say the whole sentence etc...
But I agree about Swedish, I've never heard it but I've read it and it looks pretty ugly
There wasn't? Ah shwweet! Hah, I read in my Finnish book about a "Finn-guild.com" to find lessons in this country, turns out there are a bunch of people about half an hour away from here that teach Finnish...now to convince my parents to take me every saturday.
